Hier gaan miljoenen jaren overheen.
mengsel gestookt/gefrit is.

Summarized overview of the contents of
the book itself ceramic glazes non toxic lead free assemble.
The earth is mineralogically composed of rocks of main-business quartz.
The stones were created by heating in the inside of the earth, where it
can be 5000 gr C.
The volcanoes bring the stones to the earth's surface. There they
defend, sediment, through the transport over the earth.
The quartz appears in transitional forms such as gravel, sand, loam and
clay.
Back in the earth everything is heated again to glass and after cooling
back to stone again. Glass can often be found as crystals in the quartz
stones.
Millions of years pass over this.
This textbook is about glass used as "glaze"; to compose your glazes as
a ceramist yourself.
"Simple" explained, from geology.
"Practical" for composing glazes for a ceramist, from the earth's
minerals.
How do you get a glass layer on the skin of a baked clay mold?
Glass and glaze are almost identical in chemical composition.
In the earliest times of mankind, some places on earth were by chance
very suitable for the practice of ceramics.
That was where the ancient potteries with regional culture came into
being.
Shards are still the most important finds for archeology today, for
studying ancient cultures.
The quartz never goes away!
It is only recently that the modern ceramic industry, which is spread
all over the world, has been able to scientifically investigate from
which mineral constituents a ceramic glaze "molecular" exists.
Prof. dr. Dr. Hermann Seger, a chemist at the German ceramic industry in
the 19th century, composed of his research a module for a basic formula,
with the essential ingredients for a glaze.
He gave the classification of the required oxides in the same way as
positioned in the Periodic Table of Elements; the "abacus" for the
chemists. He put together a melting glaze recipe for each final
temperature of a stove based on the required chemicals.
From this the commonly used Seger cones (cones): in numbering of rising
melting temperatures, originated, with
With this knowledge about glazes the
ceramics, now unbound to location worldwide, could be applied much more
widely.
The elementary constituents were synthesized from the supply from around
the world, in simple chemical composition and offered for sale
everywhere by the industry.
Many offered elementary substances were however very toxic to organisms
but were offered for sale.
Not aware of the evil, the poisons also went into the weighed basic raw
materials; calculated with the chemical "Seger" glaze recipe module.
Fritten.
The industry manufactured and sold the glazes as fries by burning them
in their own fryer ovens.
Later it was tried without the fritte oven to do because the oven is too
small for small-scale use.
A frit is a "half ready" gloss transparent glaze starting for 1030 gr C.
with a melting range up to the high temperature at which the mixture is
fired / fritted.
Your supplier will receive the description of the delivered product on
request with a corresponding safety certificate from the wholesaler. who
distributes it. As a buyer of the frit, you can ask your supplier for
your own safety and that of your students.
The ceramic industry also sells the toxic synthesized compounds
separately !!
The ceramic industry now also manufactures itself for the hobbyist, the
ready-made non toxic ceramic glazes.
If you start composing yourself from an industry-made frit, then your
experiments can continue "non-toxic"
If you want to experiment with the poisons as quartz formers then the
industry has, for itself, the safety of the first "fritten" of it.
In this process, the single alkalies: as melting point depressants of
quartz, are first brought to melting at the high temperature and then
suddenly immediately cooled.
